Mechanical Engineering

Faculty of Engineering, LTH

Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The department was formed in January 1999 by a fusion of the departments of Machine Elements and Production and Materials Engineering. As a result, these became divisions within the new department. In January 2001, two new divisions, formerly belonging to the Department of Mechanics and Materials, were added to our department: Materials Engineering, Mechanics, and Solid Mechanics.

Our main tasks are research and postgraduate education within a broad field of mechanical engineering areas, as well as undergraduate and graduate education within the Master's programs in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Management and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, and Environmental Engineering.
